Vintage Eight point star kilim

This is a beautiful star constellation kilim. It is said that nomads were inspired by the nights sky when weaving these types of kilim. Some also say that the 8 pointed star is inspired by the star that guided the three Kings to baby Jesus.

This kilim has colours which have faded over time to a peach and beige with soft browns apricot,  orange and blue.

Star kilims are such a fave at louloom!

 It is highly durable and probably about 60 years old. Woven using a classic slit weave technique with interlaced outlining.
